01What is BREACHPOINT?
A top-down SWAT tactics game in chunky pixel art. You plan routes and door breaches for a squad of operators, then watch the plan play out in real time — pausing whenever you need to re-plan. Think Door Kickers with Action Squad punch and gangsters in animal masks.
02Where can I get it, and what does it cost?
BREACHPOINT is coming to Steam for PC and Mac (Windows 10 or later, macOS 11 or later). The release date and price are still to be announced. Wishlist it on Steam to hear when it lands.
03Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No. The launch version is single player and fully offline: no account, no sign-in. Your crew, campaign, operations and maps are saved on your computer.
04Is there a story?
Yes. The Official campaign is 25 hand-built chapters in the city of Port Coralina: Bravo Team against the Menagerie, told in comic-panel briefings, with five golden-mask bosses and an ending on the beach. Beat it on Elite and a secret sixth chapter opens. New players can start in the Killhouse, short tutorial drills with medal times.
05Is every Operations run different?
Yes. Operations is the roguelite mode: a new run gets a random seed and every building, enemy layout and mission offer is generated from it. You choose a difficulty (Rookie, Veteran, Elite) and a map size (Small to Huge, Escalating or Random). Every fifth mission is a boss operation in a bigger, multi-story building. Ironman and New Game+ are there when you want them, plus a daily mission and a weekly operation.
06What happens when an operator dies?
On Rookie they are only wounded and you can retry. On Veteran a failed mission costs its reward and wounded left behind become KIA. On Elite death is permanent, and losing your whole roster ends the run.
07Is there multiplayer?
Not at launch. The launch version is single player. Multiplayer comes after launch in a free online update: turn-based versus like a Rainbow Six board game, 1v1 or 2v2, live or async, with seasonal ranked and two-player co-op on story chapters. The same update adds friends and clans, community maps, global leaderboards and cloud saves.
08Can I play with a controller?
Yes. Gamepads drive a virtual cursor with a command wheel. Every key can be remapped in Settings, and there are colour-blind palettes and a UI scale option.
09Can I make my own maps?
Yes. The editor paints walls, thin walls, doors, windows, furniture, stairs, elevator shafts and skylights across multiple floors, with roof and helicopter entries. A map is sealed only once you beat it: the Clear-check replays your winning run and stamps that exact version. Your maps go into your own collections. Browsing, rating and remixing other players’ maps comes with the online update after launch.
10Why are the bad guys wearing animal masks?
Because a pig mask reads instantly at 32 pixels, and because it is funnier when the guy with the shotgun is a rooster. Bosses wear gold masks.
11Is it gory?
Cartoonishly. Blood is bright, chunky and stays where it lands, but the art is comic-book, not realistic. There is no gore against hostages — and shooting civilians costs you the mission on harder tiers.
12What are the support abilities?
Before a mission you pick two: a UAV sweep that reveals every enemy for a few seconds, a sniper you place outside who shoots through windows, a CCTV hack (needs a Tech alive) that lights up the building’s cameras, a helicopter insertion onto the roof, a K9 that sniffs out and pins thugs, or a recon drone that tags every enemy it sees.
13What is the walkable HQ?
The main menu is a station house your captain walks with WASD: armory, briefing room, range, med bay, memorial wall, map desk, comms terminal, K9 kennel and trophy case. Prefer buttons? One click switches to the classic menu.
14Who made this?
